I had a rather disappointing first experience at this store. I visited to seek suggestions for products to use in a project. While I understand that not everyone is an expert in every field, the employee’s attitude towards me was quite dismissive. They seemed to take offense to my attempt to seek help, which made me feel undervalued and disrespected. To make matters worse, the employee next to them was laughing at their colleague’s comments. As a result, I left without making any purchases and felt like giving up on my project altogether. The store itself is great, but perhaps they should be more patient with first-time customers.

Why have I never been here before?!?! I could easily have spent hours in this shop, unfortunately I was on a bit of a crunch. Next time! Also, I love how this place is located in an inconspicuous building with an unmarked door; kind of takes you on a treasure hunt to get here!

Absolutely love this gem of a store for my special effects needs. They have a wide variety of everything including beauty, wardrobe, hair, cosplay and (most importantly for me) special effects makeup. The staff is super friendly and knowledgable. They hold classes and networking events, which are great to attend. Im so happy to have this source available for professional makeup needs. I love this place!

My first time visiting. It’s a little hard to find from the street, you have to sign in with the doorman (he is really nice) and take the elevator to the 8th floor. They have everything one could need! Theatrical cosmetics ranging from Kryolan to Mehron, dozens of wig heads, artificial mustaches and beards, and so much more! Roxie was super awesome and sweet, and very knowledgeable about all of the products.

2023 Update It's consolidated to just the 8th floor now I forgot how much I LOVE this store! Incredibly talented and knowledge staff, it's such a wide variety of items. Everything from costume, cosplay, hair styling, makeup, skincare, sfx, but also fabric care, sewing, jewelry making, shoe and hat care and millinery supplies, travel bottles, repotting kits of all shapes and sizes and and... They stock the best brands from all over the world and it's really worth going in person as the shipping for aerosols and flammables will kill you but also I'm not entirely sure if online is kept as up to date as in person (seems like a gargantuan task just by how many SKUs they carry)-- or if they just have so many things it's easier for me to shop by eye than online Do stop in and I bet you'll find something for your household or every day life ---2018--- Go to 8th floor for more fx and production gear 9th floor for makeup and hair Great selection of pro products and they carry an array of prof brands to try in person which is nice
