The Patchwork Moose
Store Review
The Patchwork Moose in Talkeetna, AK, offers a delightful selection of vibrant fabrics, particularly Alaska-themed batiks, which customers rave about. The store's inviting atmosphere is complemented by friendly staff, making it a welcoming stop for sewing enthusiasts. However, some customers have expressed concerns over restroom access and pricing. Nice selection of AK-themed fabrics, especially batiks, but no restroom for customers. When I spend money in a quilt shop I have traveled 2 hours to get to, I expect to be allowed to use the restroom. The owner said I should go to a restaurant and ask them or use the outhouse in the park. It was 8 degrees outside in February. So, if you travel to Patchwork Moose, find a potty before you go in. Maybe you have to spend more than $93 to qualify for the use of their bathroom.

We’ve spent lots of money over the years shopping at this store, even with everything being over priced and inflated, we still have taken the gouge to support this local business. However, after today we won’t be coming back and I won’t be recommending others to come here. Being grumpy and rude to customers drives business away. My kids wanted a candy bar from the candy machine and pulled on it to get one out. After they went to ask me if they could both have one, she scolded them and yelled “DON’T PULL THE KNOBS IF YOU'RE NOT GOING TO BUY THE CANDY” in a rude tone. Lady seriously chill, there was no reason to be a Karen. Things could have been said nicer and much calmer. We didn’t buy the candy after that and won’t be buying anything else from this store.

This was an AMAZING shop, with the most accommodating staff. Laurie was so helpful. The Alaska themed batiks were to die for in the designs and color choices. I could have spent a lot more money, but had to rein it in at some point! 😂 It’s definitely worth the trip if you’re in the vicinity. Talkeetna was the cutest town, and made for a perfect day.

On our Alaska adventure, we popped into the Patchwork Moose. There were 3 of us and we all bought Tula. Such a fun shop with great choices of fabrics. Don’t pass this shop by!!
