I’m an old customer of the SMC family and I have a lot of experience with buying, trading, picking out a new machine, putting a machine on layaway even, I purchased from the parents and I am now purchasing from the granddaughter Gracie, I believe in supporting our local businesses and I will continue to spend my money at SMC with Patrick and Jeanie. I appreciate that they have fabric, needles and feet for my machines as well! It’s so nice not having to order everything for my Janome machine, I just go to the store and get what I need and go back to my projects. Thanks, to everyone at Sewing Machine Center. I have purchased fabric and sewing machines with these guys. I am in love with the fabric. My first purchase Janome S9 was awesome. But I had to trade it for the M17 when I saw Gracie demo’ing it at the shops. Wow. What a machine. And well Gracie is pretty awesome herself!!! I can’t say I haven’t had some equipment issues many of which were operator issue!😂. But through it all Jeanie and Patrick have been there for me! I am so grateful to have a machine shop group that I feel confident about. They have reacted to every single problem I have had. And that is all I can ask from them. Anything else falls on the dealers. And so far with Hamdi Quilter they have stood behind their equipment. Stuff happens. It’s how the problem is handled that tells the tale. Thanks to Patrick and Jeanie I am still quilting!

Wow!!! That’s about all I can say. I got into an argument with Jeannie at the Sewing Machine Center on Phoenix Ave in Fort Smith where I have spent over $25,000 on machines in the last 5 years. I was told that my Janome machines all came with a lifetime warranty, yet several times that I’ve taken them in, even for the “scheduled lifetime service warranties “, I’ve had to pay for it. Sometimes for repairs as much as $600!! I recently took my big Janome 14000 embroidery machine, purchased from them, in to see why it wasn’t working. (They have been in and out of the shop for one issue after another ever since I bought them). I told Pat, the service man, to call me before he fixed it to let me know what it would cost. He didn’t call. After a month of waiting, and needing the machine back, I called to see if it was ready. He informed me that he couldn’t fix it so he had sent it back to Janome. I hadn’t even been called about it! Finally a few weeks later he texted me to tell me that it was back and I owed $650 for repairs! Repairs I had never been told about and a bill I had never authorized. After a long argument I told Jeannie I didn’t feel I owed that money, but I would be down to pick up my machine, pay for it and that the $650 unauthorized bill had cost them a $25,000 customer, as I wouldn’t be back. My husband went to get the machine, and they were closed! They had set my $7000 sewing machine out on the sidewalk!!! What kind of business does this?!?! Not only have these big Janome sewing machines never worked right, have cost me hundreds and hundreds of dollars to repair and keep working, when they knew I was on my way to get it, they set it out on the sidewalk of a business located on a very busy street and closed up. This is crazy! And very UN-professional! I will not do any business with these people again, and recommend that unless you have the patience of Job and a fortune to spend on repairs, that you shop somewhere else too. There are other sewing machine shops in town, and even Amazon sells more dependable machines with better maintenance protocols, better prices, and honest people. And there are a lot of honest sewing machine repair people in town. This is the Sewing Machine Center on Phoenix Avenue in Fort Smith.

Very nice people to do business with. They are competitive with their pricing and do repairs in a timely manner. Highly recommend. Well 2 weeks later I finally got to sew. And let me tell you folks this machine sews better than it did than when it was new. And, no I am not paid to write reviews. This business knows their stuff. If your machine is wonky take it to them and they will fix you up.
