I took a pair of pants there to get a zipper replaced. They did great work, couldn’t even tell it wasn’t the original zipper, and got it done sooner than expected. Very friendly and reasonably priced. I would use them again & would recommend.

I stopped in to have my bridesmaid dress hemmed. The space is beautiful and the tailors were very kind and helpful. I didn’t try on my dress with my heels beforehand… and long story short, I ended up not needing a hem! The tailor also agreed! I definitely recommend this business for alterations. I plan on going back for future tailoring needs. 💜

If I could leave no stars I would. I read through the reviews and thought that I was safe going here. Was I wrong. I brought my wedding dress here and it was nearly ruined. I was told it would be $600 to do the alterations. The dress fit, zipped but needed to be taken in when I brought it there. 2 weeks later she said it was done. As I was stepping into the dress I knew right away that it wasn't going to zip. She proceed to try and shove me in and thought it was just going to take a few people to get me in. Well it didn't zip. She also took in the seam around my knees so I couldn't walk or step up on the 3 inch pedestal. She said I needed different bra cups to make the chest fit better, but she shortened and moved the straps to the point I couldn't get them over my arms. She said she would fix it. 2 weeks later I go in to try again, it barely zipped, the zipper was crooked, I couldn't sit down, it was still way too tight. I ended up taking it a professional Seamstress and she said everything she did was wrong, crooked and couldn't believe that was how I was supposed to wear it. She had to redo everything and I mean everything. She took the dress back as best she could to it's original state. But was unable to fix the hem that looked like a 3rd grader took a scissors and cut all wavy and crooked. I was so upset that I was going to have to pay someone to fix everything she ruined that I went in to ask for my money back. She would only give me $300 back. I'm now in $300 to Ankeny Tailor and almost $600 to the person who finally fixed it and saved me from having to buy another dress. I feel at this point I should be owed a full refund from Ankeny Tailor. Please please don't bring your wedding dresses to this place. Pay extra somewhere else that will do it correctly. This isn't to mention that she charged my future mother in law $260 to alter her dress. Which I'm afraid would have been better and cheaper elsewhere.

I am so thrilled with the service provided at Ankeny Tailor! They were so kind and patient with my squirmy toddler who needed to hem her flower girl dress. Due to her wiggling it was hard for her to get an accurate measure on the length and when we picked up and tried on it was still a bit too long and we were worried she would trip. We offered to pay the same quoted price to redo as it truly was not their fault but they kindly wanted to take care of it to get it right! It ended up being the perfect length. They were so sweet and did an exceptional job! Highly recommend for any tailoring!
