Artisan Sewing and Fashion Academy
Founded by Beth Prokop, MFA, Artisan Sewing and Fashion Academy bridges the worlds of fashion education and apparel product development. With more than 30 years of experience in garment construction, costume design, patternmaking, and fashion development, Beth brings together the creative vision of a designer, the technical expertise of a garment maker, and the perspective of an experienced educator. Artisan is where makers learn, designers develop, and creative ideas become reality. The academy offers sewing and fashion education for all skill levels, from beginners learning foundational techniques to aspiring designers advancing their garment construction, patternmaking, fitting, and collection development skills. Students are encouraged to experiment, build confidence, and develop the knowledge to create anything they can dream. For emerging designers and established brands, Artisan provides product development services that turn concepts into production-ready garments. Services include pattern development and grading, professional sample making, and technical support throughout the development process. As the business grows, Artisan is expanding to include small-batch and micro-production runs, helping designers and independent brands move from prototypes and samples to limited production quantities without immediately committing to large-scale manufacturing. Through education, product development, and small-scale apparel production, Beth is committed to strengthening garment-making skills, supporting the next generation of designers, and expanding opportunities for independent brands to bring their ideas to market. Artisan works at the intersection of creativity and construction, connecting the skills needed to make clothing with the resources needed to develop and produce it.
