Mivia Fabrics
Store Review
Mivia Fabrics in Elizabeth, NJ, offers a diverse selection of fabrics, appealing to sewing enthusiasts. However, customer experiences vary significantly. While some praise the store's cleanliness and organization, others report poor customer service and issues with product quality. The atmosphere is described as welcoming by a few, yet others felt ignored or disrespected. Despite its potential, the store's inconsistent service and mixed reviews suggest that customers may want to approach with caution.

We visited this store on a Sunday. There were absolutely no customers in the store. The female attendant was rude and not customer friendly. We had to ask for assistance even though there was no one else in the store. We seemed to be bothering her, she seemed annoyed when asking for assistance retrieving an item from the top shelf. Also material is overpriced. We decided to order from Amazon. Homedepot's prices are even much less.

I was looking for a fabric store that was closer to me than the Fabric Warehouse (which I adore). So I spotted this business a few times & decided to go in today. I must say they do have a large selection of fabric but I was looking for muslin or cheap fabric to use to make a rough draft of a pattern. It was only one type of muslin to choose from that was $6 per yard & when I asked the two ladies at the front counter if they had a sale section of fabric. One simply said the cheapest fabric was the cotton section right in the left corner of the counter. They didn't seem eager to help or to make any suggestions so I felt like I was bothering them. I won't be returning to this location unless i desperate for an item and i can't drive to Walmart or to The Fabric Warehouse.

Came in here to buy fabric to make a dress. Explained exactly how I wanted to sow the pieces together. And Everytime I asked what is the material of a certain fabric, they laughed and never answered. She then cut me a bunch of fabric that she told me were linens and ended up being all different thickness. Instead of explaining after i explained what I wanted the fabric for, she never told me the fabric were of different textures. Then started talking in their language about how I didn’t know what I was asking. Never again will I attempt to spend money here or recommend anyone here!

I purchased 12 yards of fabric for a reupholstery job that was quoted to take 9 yards. Not only was the excess fabric not returned to me, the seam work is of incredibly poor quality. The fabric is literally fraying. The cushion covers cannot be laundered or even dry cleaned because in some areas the material has already frayed to the quick.

well, I just have to thank mivia it's a clean, organized store. I was always very well treated and welcomed. ALL my doubts are always clarified, I work with sewing, and I am a frequent customer, I love going there. we have to have respect for the professionals who work there, because they deserve all the credit for this incredible store, because the employees do their job very well. thank you people.
