Modern Domestic

Olivier was great and really spent time explaining machines and options to get started as a beginner. Everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable and seemed as though the genuinely enjoyed being there. Can't wait to take my first class!

I was in Portland visiting our granddaughter a few weeks ago. I had an interest in doing a sewing project while there, though I did not have a sewing machine to use. I used one of the sewing machines at Modern Domestic . The machines are very nice and the staff there are very helpful. It was nice to have their help away from home.

Entire experience was nice. They offer good quality fabrics, I went for garment fabric and they had what I was looking for. Staff is incredibly nice, answered all my questions and then some. There was a kids class going on in the back and I thought that was cool. Love this place! Highly recommend!

An inviting place to shop for fabric of all kinds. I enjoyed that this was more of a "sewing" stop than just strictly quilting which I am used to at home. There were fabrics for quilting, garment making, and any other sewing project you have in mind. A great selection of fat quarters, garment patterns, and a working space for those to use in the back. It was nice to see all kinds of people in the store when I was there. All the staff I encountered were great!

My husband often says that the only domestic about me is that live in a house ;-)! My daughter in law, who is a high powered attorney has taken up sewing for stress relief, go figure. She wanted a gift certificate from Modern Domestic so we made a trip there to pick one up for her. It was fun to see the beautiful colors, fabrics and threads they had in the store. They also teach sewing classes so you may want to try a class for yourself or someone you know. You won't see me there but I would love to see a picture of you sewing at Modern Domestic!
