BERNINA's WeAllSew introduced the bernette 57 and 59 in a September 28, 2026 announcement. The b57 is a sewing-only machine; the b59 combines sewing and embroidery. The release expands on the model names mentioned in our earlier BERNINA University coverage.
Choose the work before the model
The announcement lists a color touch screen, automatic thread cutter and 6.7 inches of space to the right of the needle among their shared features. It says the b57 includes a large extension table. For the b59, it lists three embroidery hoops and a maximum embroidery area of 4.7 by 7 inches. See the manufacturer's announcement:

Before a demonstration, write down the projects you want to make. Do they call for sewing, embroidery, or both? Ask to see the operations that matter for those projects, using representative materials if the dealer permits it. If embroidery interests you, bring an example of the design size and placement you have in mind rather than choosing from a feature count.
Check the app and delivery details
WeAllSew describes the b59 connecting by WiFi to the free StitchDirect app for iOS and Android. Its September post also described USB design transfer as planned for October 2026; that wording does not confirm that the rollout occurred.
Ask a dealer to demonstrate the functions available on the machine you would actually receive. Which tasks use the mobile device, and which can you perform without it? What software, accessories and instruction are included in the quote? Confirm present availability and delivery timing directly.
