BERNINA's August 20, 2026 WeAllSew post introduced three embroidery-hoop additions: Medium and Large Sticky Embroidery Hoops, plus a Giant Magnetic Hoop. The useful distinction for a shopper is not simply size. The announcement described different ways of holding a project and different limits on their use.

What the announcement says

The Sticky Hoops use adhesive stabilizer on a frame to support projects that are difficult to hold in a standard hoop. BERNINA listed Medium compatibility with its 5, 7, 8 and 9 Series, and Large compatibility with the 7, 8 and 9 Series. The Giant Magnetic Hoop was listed for the B 990 only.

The same post states that Sticky Hoops require adhesive stabilizer and are not for quilting. It also describes situations where standard hooping offers more control than the magnetic option. Read the manufacturer's explanation and compatibility information:

Match the accessory to a real project

Before shopping, write down your exact machine model and the item you want to embroider. Ask a dealer to confirm compatibility with that machine, the usable embroidery area and any other requirements. A broad series listing is a starting point for verification, not a reason to skip it.

Bring a representative sample if the dealer permits it. Ask to see how the material is supported, how the stabilizer is selected and how the finished work is removed. If you want to make repeated items, discuss the handling involved without assuming a particular speed or result.

Also consider the supplies needed beyond the hoop itself. Ask what comes in the package and what you would need to purchase separately for your project. This announcement establishes options to investigate; it does not establish which is best for every fabric, machine or maker.
