I ordered 17 yards of fabric in varying shades of greyscale. There were 14 different fabrics. I made a request that each cut be labeled with the color so that I would know the color of each cut. My request was completely disregarded. I then assumed that they would stack the fabric in the order that each cut appeared on the invoice. That didn’t happen either. I have spent hours trying to determine which color aligns to the color key for my project. Very disappointed. The fabric is great though. The review would have been 5 stars otherwise.

Update- went back for a second visit and received much better customer service, so I feel they bumped up a star. They also had lots of new fabrics discounted. I’m loving the revolving inventory. I was able to find some amazing prints and for $5.99 or $6.99 per yard. First review I really contemplated what rating to give Hancock’s of Paducah. I think a 3 and 3/4 stars would be more fitting. Hopefully this review helps someone driving a ways to visit. Customer service - it was completely hit or miss. Some of the workers were very nice and others gave me daggers when I asked a simple question. No one is really “available” to help even though there are employees all around. They’re all filling online orders. I’m super happy that they’re busy and have an abundance of online business but unfortunately, a lot of their bolts didn’t have pricing on them, so trying to find someone to answer a pricing question became a little challenging. And I felt bad bringing those bolts up to the counter to continually ask about pricing. So inevitably I just gave up on any bolt that didn’t have a price. That is business lost. I will absolutely purchase a full price fabric but as anyone who purchases fabric knows it really adds up so pricing is important. Fabric pricing - it’s all over the place. Most bolts are around $11.99 or $12.99 a yard. So definitely not the cheapest place to shop. But they do have sale prices ($5.99 $6.99, $7.99), however, they are scattered throughout the entire store so you have to look through every row to find the fabric on sale. Store layout- Everything is organized by designer. I personally don’t shop by designer and I honestly don’t know many people who do. So if you’re looking for say just yellows, you still have to walk through the entire store to find them, Because they’re all over the place. Im sure they set it up that way because of their online orders. And that’s completely understandable, but it is a little harder for shopping in store. I personally will not buy fabric online because I need to feel the fabric and place fabrics next to each other to see if colors look good together, as that’s half the journey when making quilts. So be prepared to walk around a lot when you get there. Checkout - Their cutting station and cashier area is very efficient, and I can greatly appreciate that. The checkout experience may vary, depending on what worker you get. Only 1 yrd cuts- I do a lot of scrappy quilts so I don’t always need or want a full yard of fabric so being forced to purchase a yard and not a half yard was a little offputting. It forces me to purchase fabric I don’t need. So I will be taking my business elsewhere when I need a smaller amounts of fabric. I do love that this fabric store is here and if I’m in the Paducah area, I will likely stop by, as long as I have a lot of time on my hands to search for the sales. (Don’t get me wrong either, I spent over $600 when I came in last). I’m happy to spend the money, I just like to stretch my dollar). But I have a number of local fabric stores around me that sell their fabric for dollars less a yard and will cut smaller amounts. Definitely room for improvement at this location. But I am grateful it is around now that other large retailers are gone.

I was disappointed. We were on our way to TN and wanted to pick up my Christmas present which was several creative grids products, Stripology and rotating cutting mat... The website said in stock so we chose our route to go through Paducah and stop there. The reality is the items were in stock at their supplier not in the store. Since I didn't have time to shop for fabric it was a wasted trip. I wish they would change their website to be truthful about what is available in store vs online only.

Just go! Wonderful selection of fabrics and notions. If you get overwhelmed by the amount of fabrics just look.at the red tag ones (on sale) and it will be far less overwhelming. You can always add regular price back in to match what you started on sale with. If you have not seen the restrooms you are missing part of the store!

Finally traveling through Paducah at the right time and we were able to stop in at Hancock's of Paducah. Wow talk about a wide choice of fabric! The staff were very friendly and helpful, plenty of cutting tables available, and wide variety of fabrics from which to choose. Only downside is farther away from me than I would like! We greatly enjoyed our visit - even our son was impressed and picked out some fabrics .
