The tailoring itself was very expensive and the items did not come back the way I had asked. I was trying to shorten a skirt and the tailor kept making comments about how short it was and suggesting I shouldn’t wear skirts that short. I ended up asking for it short anyways and it came back mid length (at least 3 inches longer than I asked for). I’ve brought in several skirts and dresses before and the seamstress has always made comments that came off very rude. The other items I brought it came back okay, but unfortunately the cost is very high.

I’ve been here a couple times—once for a bridesmaid dress to be hemmed, and most recently for a custom job of turning a dress into a skirt. The bridesmaid dress was done on time, exactly as expected, and reasonably priced. The skirt…… oh. my. goodness. My tailor, Phuong, has superpowers. I came in 5 minutes before closing on a Saturday with a custom rush job to be done by the following Wednesday (with them closed on Sunday), and it was done less than 48 hours later! She went above and beyond to make it even more perfect than I could’ve possibly imagined. I was quoted $100 upfront for the job, which I initially thought was pretty steep but agreed anyway (since I was desperate for the rush), but after the project being completed so fast and SO WELL DONE, this price was definitely fair. I’m truly blown away at how amazing the skirt turned out. Thank you Phuong!!!! I cannot recommend this place enough, and will absolutely continue to use them for any of my future tailoring needs!

I got recommended to bring my daughters Sweetheart dress to get altered here. I am extremely disappointed. We picked up the dress and it is in worse shape then when we dropped it off. I paid $95 and now will be using saftey pins and body tap to make the dress fit her. We brought it in to have the top taken in since it was strapless. It is barely tighter and we will be using tape to keep the dress up.They had to move 1 flower and now we will be using a safety pin to hold it together since it is off from the other 3. Now there is a big gap. The worst part about the dress now is the 2 seams in the dress are no longer equal and so off centered from each other. Before they were spaced down the legs and now one of the seams is in the complete center of the dress! She needs to wear it in 2 days and we did not have time today to have them "fix it" today. Even if we had time to bring it back today, I do not think I would have. The dress is ruined at this point and I do not trust that they could fix it. A waste of $95 and waiting 2 weeks.

I’ve brought many items to Tailors on Blake over the years and been incredibly impressed every time. Unfortunately, the fabulous Sharon has now retired and the shop is under new ownership. It shows. The seamstress who pinned my dress spoke very limited English. She did not understand my questions and could not provide answers. She pinned my formal dress hastily and crookedly. A younger associate was called into the fitting room to interpret my questions and when I asked for reassurance regarding the uneven pinning, she answered snarkily “we are tailors and we know what we are doing”. The fee was close to $200 for a hem and shoulder strap adjustment. I ended up declining the service. Too many red flags. I won’t be back.

I bring all my tailoring to this shop. My last need was snaps on silk robes. Wonderfully done. I've had pants hemmed, and other clothing adjusted. They have wonderful gifts for sale also! With cute monogram options!
