Owner sewed patch in an incorrect place and crooked on a leather jacket and blamed me when confronted about it told me to come back 4 hours later and he would have it fixed, came back at the requested time (I live an hour away) and had to wait another 10 minutes because he hadn't even started the rework yet. The place initially gives off professional vibes but their lack of attention to detail and arguing with a customer makes them anything but professional. After receiving the jacket from his assistant I looked it over and the sewing on the one patch that he had to resew, was sewed on very crude not like the other patches and it has a gouge in it that wasn't there before the first time I went to pick it up I suspect he gouged it intentionally with a fingernail.

I looked all over for a place to repair an old baseball cap. Not only was this the only repair shop willing to fix the hat, they did it in TWO days so I would have it in time to give to my dad on Father’s Day. Also super friendly staff! 10/10 recommend

I brought my designer purse here to have the straps and outer leather replaced. They assured me they had done similar work before, so I trusted them with the job. I was asked to leave a $175 deposit, with another $200 due upon pickup. After six weeks, I came to collect my bag and was incredibly disappointed with the results. The stitching was uneven, the leather replacement didn’t match the original as promised, and there was even red paint on the straps. Worse, the interior of the purse had been cut. It looked far worse than when I first dropped it off. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, the owner waived the $200 balance and I took the purse home. I later took it to a Louis Vuitton store to see if they could help, but since the bag had been altered by a third party, they were unable to repair it. Unfortunately, it’s now unusable. I called the shop to ask for a refund, and was told I could come in for one. However, when I arrived, I was only refunded $87—just 50% of my original deposit. When I asked for the remaining balance, I was told that was all they were willing to give back. For anyone considering taking a high-end purse here for repairs, I strongly recommend against it. My bag was completely ruined, and now I’m left with something that looks worse than a counterfeit version you’d find online.

Jose did an amazing job. We took our four patio lounge chairs to several places in STL to have them re-slung. Each time we were told it could not be done. This was not an easy job since each sling is one piece. By happenstance we found Jose. He looked at the chairs and said he could do it. Jose advised us how much fabric was needed and we procured it. Felt Jose’s price was very reasonable and the turn around was in a couple weeks. Highly recommend JG Sewing & Leather Repair.
