Small store but cute. Fabric prices by the yard are out of this world. This would be my last resort shop was just looking for fabric not to purchase what someone else has made. I have my own business as well. 20.00 a yard for plain fabric is just to high but thanks I did find lower same quality fabric else where without trying to make someone else’s life easier

The staff are very nice and helpful and it's fun to run across yarn you won't find in the major chain stores!

This review pertains to the following: 2025 Classes I have been a customer of Silk Road Textiles (SRT) since Summer of 2020. I credit SRT for rejuvenating my love of knitting and supporting my recent journey in sewing and altering garments. I am grateful for classes I took from 2020-2024 and always looked forward to what I would learn next. My 2025 classes at SRT, unfortunately, were frustrating and poorly managed. I signed up for courses that required investing large amounts of time (from 3 hours/week for 3 weeks to 2 hours/month for a calendar year) and funds (several hundred dollars between course fees and materials). In return, I never finished half my projects and my instructors were unprepared for the majority of classes. For some classes, it felt like I was simply paying to use the store space to complete the project. Instructors were regularly behind or didn’t make samples to reference, and sometimes had not even previewed the pattern for that day’s class. Reminders for the monthly class meet ups were not provided, with commentary shared that “we are not your parents, you shouldn’t need reminders”. The community I had looked forward to forming over the course of a year didn’t show up, and were blamed for their absence. I am disheartened. I resented and avoided completing class projects. My mood soured when I had a class coming up. Having invested so much on my end, I felt I had to make the experience worth it, or else I would have stopped attending. I fear this feedback will be taken defensively, instead of as an opportunity to reflect and grow. I want my experience at SRT in 2025 to not happen for others who may be starting or reviving their fiber arts journey like I was in 2020.

What a wonderful welcoming store! I'm an absolute beginner in sewing and an experienced knitter and crocheter. They helped me find things and answered all my questions. I love the selection. This will be my go to store for craft supplies

Silk Roast Textiles is my favorite fabric and yarn shop. No online website can ever replace the experience of seeing and feeling fabric in person, placing fabrics together to see what clicks for me. Recently Terry helped me get my accurate measurements, preventing me from making something in the wrong size. It really drove home for me how important the personal touch is. I went in one day a few months ago with the picture of a T shirt quilt I wanted to make for a friend. I had no pattern, butTrish spent a looooong time doing MATH (ugh!) for me, helping me figure out the yardage I needed. No pattern? No problem! With Trish’s math skills and expertise, we figured it out. I’m very proud of the resulting quilt. Silk Road has a wide variety of fabric, some you won’t find anywhere else locally. But it’s the personal attention and help that will keep you coming back.
