Urban Spools Sewing Lounge

I always enjoy stopping in to shop. They have a wonderful variety of fabric & notions. The staff is very helpful, kind & knowledgeable.

I found Urban Spools while doing the Texas Shop Hop. I found the staff to be extremely helpful and willing to offer suggestions on a quilt idea I had in my mind but was afraid to attempt. The fabric selection was amazing as well as pattern kits, notions and just regular patterns. If you are one who sews garments, bags or quilts you will find something here. I believe that a review below mine misspoke when they wrote that it was a store that caters to women. I believe that they cater to EVERYONE. And while the labels in Mr Brewster’s review were not to his liking, I am pleased to report that I DO NOT share his opinion. It is now 2026. The grandmas and others are creating things for everyone. We aren’t just making baby quilts and we definitely are not afraid to speak our minds.

Great experience for both of my beginner sewing classes! Went in a total beginner and have left both classes feeling confident in the projects I sewed and being able to recreate them at home. Not only do they have sewing and quilting classes but they have everything you could ever want and need to start and finish up a project. I’ll definitely be taking more classes in the future and buying all my fabric and notions from Urban Spools.

This shop is a treasure. I love the beautiful, quality fabrics and the helpful people. I took a pillow making class and learned more than I expected. I have never had a quilt of mine long arm quilted but I decided to give it a try. And they did an amazing job! I’m so pleased with it. It really makes my quilt feel even more special to me.

I had a great experience at my first two classes in a 3 part beginner quilting series! I feel like i’m learning a lot from the hands on experience in class and that the teacher was very knowledgeable and patient. The selection of fabrics and notions are all so exciting, i can’t wait to start on my next project.
