I honestly felt compelled to leave a review after just my initial consultation, because my experience at Mychelle’s was that wonderful. I purchased my wedding gown from Ava Laurénne Bride in Fredericksburg, and Mychelle’s is the one and only alterations shop they recommend. After my appointment, I completely understand why! After my consultation appointment at Ava Laurénne, I thought my gown only needed a hem and some sleeve adjustments. However, My took the time to carefully evaluate the entire dress and suggested several subtle alterations I never would have considered, including trimming down the boning, tightening the bodice cups, and letting out fabric in certain areas. As she pinned everything, I watched a dress I already loved become even more beautiful. What stood out most was how kind, patient, and thorough My and Michelle were. My spent so much time with me, answering questions and making sure every detail would be perfect. Michelle was equally wonderful—she helped me get into my gown since I came alone and chatted with me about my wedding while I waited for My to finish up with the bride before me. They both made me feel completely comfortable and cared for. They were also incredibly accommodating with my schedule, which I greatly appreciate during such a busy season of wedding planning. Your wedding gown is one of the most important garments you’ll ever wear, and this is exactly the kind of team you want helping you perfect it for your big day. I cannot wait to see the finished result and will update my review once my alterations are complete!

I had a wonderful experience getting my wedding dress altered at Mychelle’s Atelier. I was originally referred by my bridal shop, Ava Laurenne, and I’m so grateful for the recommendation. Mychelle’s went above and beyond to make sure every alteration was exactly what I envisioned, and they kept me informed about the timeline throughout the entire process. For my first couple of appointments, I came alone, and they were so kind about taking photos for me so I could share updates with my family and friends. At my final fitting, I brought a few of my bridesmaids, and they took the time to help us record a step‑by‑step video so they’d know exactly how to put on and take off the bustle on my wedding day. My dress fit perfectly, and I was so appreciative of the care they put not only into the alterations themselves but also into helping pack my gown safely for a cross‑country journey. Their attention to detail and genuine kindness made the entire experience exceptional. I couldn’t recommend them more—they truly care about their brides and deliver outstanding work.

After getting a few recommendations for Mychelle's, I took my wedding dress to them for alterations and some custom changes. I bought my dress second hand but it wasn't quite "me" (I'm not usually one for strapless), and My was able to take my inspiration photos to create my perfect dress! She also added a bustle and taught my sisters how to to attach everything. Communication and scheduling were easy with Mychelle's. Before we started, I emailed them my ideas and they were able to give me a rough estimate of what I could expect cost-wise. At my first appointment, we set up all future appointments and everything was completed in less than four months. They did a great job and I highly recommend.

I have never felt so genuinely taken care of throughout a process. From the very first appointment, the attention to detail, kindness, and professionalism were incredible. The alterations on my dress were absolutely perfectly tailored every step of the way and each appointment was efficient and fast without ever feeling rushed. One of the most meaningful parts was the care taken to incorporate a piece of my mother’s dress into mine, it was done so beautifully and with such respect, and it truly meant the world to me. I never plan on getting married again, but if I were, I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to have my dress altered here again. Highly, highly recommend!!!
