This is the second year I've attended this retreat and I'll go again next year in a heartbeat! We were a group of 6 and loved every minute of the event. It was fun to see friends we made last year again and we look forward to seeing everyone again next summer.

The July 3-day retreat was something I'm glad I didn't miss. Time spent with like-minded women, many who started out as strangers but some who became friends, added to the great time. As I walked around, to see what others were working on, there was such a variety of projects and everyone was more than willing to share ideas and info. Machines ranged from top of the line to Singer Featherweights. I am so happy I got to attend. Nice job Flash!

What’s better than spending 3 days with like minded happy sewers! Some that are new to sewing, and some that have years of experience-learning and inspiring and getting ideas, new gadgets and finding out what I need!! Prizes, demos, speakers and lessons!! Making rope bowls and getting loads of fabric at the best store in Sarasota! I loved it all!!!

I really cannot say enough about this retreat. The Carlisle Inn was the perfect place for us to gather and their hospitality was the best. The group was so friendly and so many wonderful ideas were shared. I particularly loved the rope bowl project, I'd never done one before and was amazed at how it turned out. Thanks to everyone at Flash for your time and effort to make this a truly enjoyable vacation for me. Even the nametags were made with special care. Thank you too for the refreshments (coffee, tea and lemonade) throughout the day. I also really enjoyed the lunches each day (next time see if they can provide a little lettuce and tomato for those turkey sandwiches :) Hope to see you all again next year.

I recently took the Oxbow Tote class, taught by Mary Hayes at Flash, Sew & Quilt - Sarasota. So much fun! Mary is a great teacher. She provides step by step instructions, demonstrations and hands on assistance as needed. She brought a sample of the finished tote to class as a visual of the completed tote. We each worked at our own pace; with Mary giving is tips and tricks to bag making - so much better than trying to just follow a pattern on my own. I finished my Oxbow tote in class! The finished tote is great for when I need a bigger bag when out shopping.
