This is a fantastic yarn store with VIBRANT color options and a lovely selection of yarn. I really liked the layout of their shop, my partner who is dragged to yarn stores across the country but does not care for yarn himself was even heavily impressed by the display here.

This place is fabulous and the people are so so nice! They have many samples and will always tell you how to find the pattern it and recommend yarns to make it. They’re amazing!

The owner is one of the kindest and most thoughtful people you’ll ever meet. She genuinely cares about her students and always goes above and beyond to make sure everyone feels welcome and supported. When my friend came to class feeling unwell and was coughing, she handled the situation with such patience and compassion—it really showed her character. Her classes and supplies are also very affordable, and she always puts customers first. I was so touched when she refunded my shipping after learning I’d be coming in for a class in person! All the teachers are fantastic, and every class I’ve taken has been fun and informative. The Sashiko class is especially popular, but the embroidery and crochet classes are wonderful too. If you’re thinking about taking a class here, don’t hesitate—you’ll have a great experience!

Super cute yarn and fabric store. I’d say it’s about 70% yarn and knit/crochet supplies and 30% fabric and sewing supplies, but their fabric and notions are well curated and they have a nice selection of independent designer sewing patterns. Don’t neglect the back room, which has lots of quilting cotton as well as discounted apparel fabric.

The measure of a local yarn shop is determined by how much truly local yarn they carry. Nina Chicago has an incredible variety of local yarns of varying weights - the prominent "Local" signs mean you're in the right spot. And the rest of their offering is just as high quality. Whether you live here or are visiting for one reason or another, this is a must-see for the fiber-inclined.
